Anger
Righteous anger is the right of the oppressed,
yes, even war,
but war is the last and most desperate answer.
War is not particular in whom it kills.
Righteousness is a peculiar confrontation
in which both sides,
determined they are right,
fight as viciously as rutting males
while the does look on,
wanting neither contender for a partner,
while the struggling males
think winning is what makes them desirable.
How little of women do men know,
since we never listen,
concerned as we are with our rights
and defending our tender egos;
while women, not in trenches,
are preserving lives and burying the dead
who began as embryos in their wombs
and suckled at their breasts,
but have little say in sending their children to war:
war being a male ego issue,
a test of pride
and the preservation of honor:
not as death and life.
