A poem is a caesura,
a break in time
that can back you into a corner,
a mix of sounds
that points in a new direction;
a soft alarm
that what seems so right is wrong,
or a joyful song
that converts your frown into smiling;
a use of words
that eliminates frustration,
once again makes sound
a reliable conveyer of sense
because it speaks loudly and clearly
of your own experience.
