Cruelty

Cruelty is never necessary.
It may be ordered
or voluntarily applied.
Purposed, accidental, or gratuitous
is not the same.

The requirement to inflict it
may, indeed, forced
or rest on circumstance,
ability and law.
And what if I act on mere chance?

There may be conditions to be considered:
religion or race, age and sex.
In any event,
I might possibly die.

And what if I choose to do nothing?
What happens then?
Might I, for example, be sued?

Yes, cruelty is surely a coward’s game.

The question is
how long I can lie to myself
if I don’t oppose it?
