No More Time
There isn’t much you can do
when you’re out of time,
no matter how hard you may try.
If quality is something you care for,
you take your time,
are deliberate in what you do,
reviewing every move you make,
every stroke and stave;
in this way, you are saving time
and preparing a better product…like the simple rime
that’s natural;
or the rhythm that occurs of itself.
Good poems create themselves.
No other way to say it.
The poet is simply the conduit,
the faucet chosen:
inspected, selected, perhaps,
and sometimes forgiven.
