Fog and a Leaf
A car approaches
along the street,
its lights bright spots
in the fog.
For an instant,
a leaf twists black and sharp,
then is lost
to the foggy light.
Streetlights, as they do,
cast a fuzzy glow.
Hazy shadows absorb
the night.
Only reflections
are distinct and clear,
as if generated
in a backward mirror.
