Last Stop
In the end, it's trust,
if we're lucky,
that's thrust upon us.
Face-to-face with the fact we have lost,
we are forced to laugh
and decide to do nothing about it.
And so, undone
and accepting that anything won
reduces profit,
we do something nobody expects:
let the sun go down
and the moon proceed on its rounds
and, by doing that,
welcome gladly whatever’s to come
for the time it lasts.
