Blackbird 2
It’s easy to talk about blackbirds.
I do not keep score.
The core of the earth is molten.
When brought to light,
it is crimson,
reddish-yellow in its run,
then cools to stone.
The stone it becomes
is black lava,
our sun insufficient to heat it.
In a second scene,
I see trees green in the sun.
Bee traffic comes
to a halt
at the sign of red flowers.
These bees convert
pollen and nectar to honey.
Men, too, have to work for their money.
