After God

After God comes greater silence:
the desire to know
as wishes, hopes and frustrations
come and go.

Never content,
we look to science, ask questions.
Few answers last.

Life wipes out our affectations.

Too much we engage conversation,
but no one talks
about that which we never forget:
that eternal silence,

despite our best efforts at God.
