Gate of Life

The pull of the female is eternal
whether mother, sister or mate,
especially, a daughter.

It is surely sex, but also the sense of knowing
and being known,
understanding in response to need.

Thus is the Goddess
conversant with human passion
quite apart from tests,

recognizing need on its face
and the need of usually male condemners
for a quid pro quo.

Who determined God
was an elder male who belatedly had a son,
not from human seed,

but a god’s own need
and without the young woman’s consent?
Are we talking rape?
