And Now a Word

I write my compound verses.

I do not extend
my walks beyond the compound;
it would not be safe.

I have a compound fracture.
It compounds my life.
The medicine I take is a compound.

I feel less stress
when interest on investments
compounds;

but I am not calm
at the signs of deepening recession:
my heart, it pounds.
