Beauty as Interaction
Beauty is best seen as conversation,
an invitation that triggers response:
no beauty without a beholder,
no beholder absent its curse.
Beauty, as interaction, may persist in time,
remain past initial reaction,
remembered, if even maligned.
But beauty is also a concept,
defined and, then, refined
over time, reflecting changing criteria.
Or it may be rejected as crime.
still, always retains an enchantment,
in and outside of time
as one of Plato’s eternals enshrinedin flesh and also in mind.
