Born Again
To wallow in the flesh of a woman,
to suck there life
and bury inside her my fear,
my hurt, my trying;
to arise from her flesh born anew,
fully washed of sin--
that tarnish incidental to living--
to begin again;
take joy in the fact of existence,
just breathe sweet air
as excited as a child
new born again
to once more belong
to this world in the rust of my being;
to renew my trust,
despite bruises, insults, and lust:
no reservations,
experiencing once more true confession:
in a flesh, to flesh, and by flesh:
love’s own conversion.
