Seesaw of Circumstance
One end is up, the other down.
When I am free, you're not alone.
When you are here, I'm out of town.
Some bells go ding,
some bells go dong.
The mind betrays because hearts stray
from where mind thinks a heart belongs.
If mind is right, heart must be wrong.
Some bells go ding,
some bells go dong.
I sing the words. It's not a song.
Our lives are short. Our days are long.
It’s day by day we go along.
What if a bell
rings ding-ding-dong?
Make no mistakes. It takes less time
to make mistakes, than make them right.
What’s right is ding.
What’s wrong is dong.
The bell swings up. The bell swings down.
Some bells, it seems, ring all day long
on cars and bicycles, trains and trucks.
Some bells ring long.
Some bells are wrong.
I wish most bells would just shut up.
