Spirit Comes and Goes

Spirit arises out of mind
as mind arises from the brain
and brain from body.

Body is created from seed and egg
contributed by other bodies,
as does all life.

And all bodies die,
as do brain and mind and spirit.
All life dissolves

into molecules and atoms
to disperse,
just as seeds are thrown to the wind,

but whither seeds?

No rebirth, but surely remixing
among atoms and molecules thrown,
each infinitesimally small,
set free in space.
