Learning Dog

Learning dog is important to humans,
knowing how to listen
with an eye past words to intent,

to accept the whine and the dance
or the simple look
to express what is being held back;

how the head is cocked, foot held up
to determine the wish or need,
and to understand
that where a dog sits is always important.

No one says that such learning is easy
and it does take time,
but dogs are fantastic teachers.

Their experience goes back generations,
but not always with great success.

The onus of the teaching, not well observed:
Love is not a function of sex.
Sex is a bonus.
