The City
The city moves slowly or quickly.
Weather affects it.
Too many cars, too many people,
everyone with rights.
Today, there's a funeral procession:
many cars with lights.
Shoppers resent the interruption:
too little time.
They add to the carbon monoxide
tobacco smoke.
Rules are not really made to be followed.
Everyone needs breaks
though the city makes
the greatest effort to protect you.
You don’t need to be afraid.
