My Younger Sister

My younger sister is a miracle.

She has not yet died,
despite what the doctors did,
who she thanks
despite their mistakes.

There's no thought of suing.

She thinks, first of all, of others,
and turns her cheek,
believes in granting forgiveness.

Her triumph is self denial.

I agree, it is no way to be;
but as I'm always saying:
my younger sister is a miracle.
