If

If all male children were neutered,
would there be less crime,
less raping and pillage, 
less war?

And if all young females were whores
would the doors be shut
to non-commercial lovers 
where hair’s cut short?

 Is sex so important a factor?
Or does money fool
all lovers to expect "happy afters"
in a sex-ruled world?

And what if all children were killed?
Would that make an end
to anger, jealousy, and greed?

It would tend, I am sure, to be final
in a way that lends
conviction to destruction of vinyl
and the other blends
of religion, science and truth.

Around the bend
there would be no more use for metal
or for what falls down
like houses, restaurants and barns.

What were one time farms 
would return again to forest,
highways to grass, rails pushed around by the cold
and, as often told,
insects taking over the world: 
a typical act of class warfare.

Now time will pass
and mountains end up in the drink;
the planets shrink 
and speed away to the shadows.

 So our world will end,
not a soul left alive to whimper.
