Pity

Is there ever a person in trouble
who requires pity?
Or is pity scorn?

What if it’s found
the one who pities spiteful,
not truly kind?

The issue may resolve to the question:
Does he want our help?

We might also note
that pity may be
self-righteous demonstration
and a sign of pride.
