Ass-kissing

Ass-kissing is not desirable in a Justice,
even less outbursts. 
This candidate seems not to be credible, 
swaddled in doubts. 

He seems never to have been seriously tested.
Now he seems to flail
and strike out when under pressure,
is about to cry. 

That a quiet, articulate woman 
could cause such fear
makes clear 
what by backers had been expected: 

a walk in the park to election.
No doubt. No doubt. 
We soon shall see 
how the Senate Congress has judged the electorate. 

Will it gather its eggs in a basket,
padding all pulled out,
with a chick pecking hard at its shell?
When the chick grows up,

How will female voters be treated? 
Will there now be greater justice 
for women? 
Or are they still left out?
