Grandeur

The grandeur of God is not lasting,
nor is God’s praise,
given constant pressures of life

that require care
every day, every night, everywhere;
They leave no time

for quiet meditation,
but generate
multiple outcries for help,

then loud damnation,
frustration and, finally, no hope;
collapse, dismissal,

and maybe acceptance of fate.
Only then is God.
Even trust is not required.
