Hunger
The two basic movers in life
are thirst and hunger.
This is true for most earthbound life,
including humans.
Reproduction is the simple hunger:
to continue life:
for most meaning reproduction,
not only humans.
Humans add quality to life:
think wealth, think safety,
think greed,
think living better than others;
then think of spite, jealousy and hatred:
these aspects, too,
are provide a measure of life
and judgement, too:
who is good, who is bad;
who is happy, who is sad,
and why they have become that way,
thus, are loved or, instead, despised.
Then think if it even matters
and so ask the goals,
What leads to a happy life?
What makes life happy?
And who is to be made happy?
You, your family and friends?
or all mankind?
What about the whole creation
as a living system
of which we are only a part.
Or, instead, apart,
and should go our own way alone?
Though that way is death
of everything we have known
and do not yet know
even our impact on them.
