Robins and Waxwings and Holly

Robins and cedar waxwings
fill the holly tree
that reciprocally
fills bellies with berries.

Male robins sing
while awaiting arrival of females,
just the sort of thing
that continues the Christmas spirit
into early spring.

Waxwings, on the other hand,
are prone,
having sat among berries and feasted,
to move along,
aware
that another snow's coming.
