Good Taste
It is said of God
that we are made in his image.
We hedge and prod
and argue about what this means.
At issue is the nature of risk,
promises claimed,
and if it’s wise to trust
a God who made man out of lowly mud,
used for moisture spit,
saliva direct from his mouth,
not even the water from a puddle.
Or to now get real,
should we trust a God
of whom we are the spitting image,
with so few men just
and the rest disinclined to mercy?
