Salt Water Swimming
We are treading black water that's cold.
It is clear we're tiring.
What we seek is mooring
and a resting place;
a place beyond any adoring
where respect, unlaced,
is faced,
face-to-face in the morning;
so, tied to flesh,
it is flesh to which we hold fast
and the facts of spirit that bodies
also provide,
God's approval tacit.
