What about Love?

The songs we sing about love
and the words we use
complain about what we have lost
and continue losing.

Acceptance of loss may be love,
if it's of our choosing:
even loss of ourselves,
since we're only musing
and we all must lose;

being subject to divorce, debt and death;
nonetheless, expect
that the ship we never sent off
will one day come in,
as if up from the rubble of lives
new life will bubble;
